At Home with the Georgians

If you’re lucky enough to be able to use the BBC iPlayer (you have to live in the UK, although this is expected to change soon, but still hasn’t changed as of 10/27/11), you might be able to watch At Home with the Georgians: “In this three part series, historian Amanda Vickery explores how the great British obsession with our homes began 300 years ago.” There is also the book that prompted the series — Behind Closed Doors: At Home in Georgian England.

Vickery is also the author of The Gentleman’s Daughter, which I am currently reading.
