Worst … job … ever!

Smithsonian Magazine has an article on that ever popular genre, the disgusting, dirty job. Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs and Tony Robinson of Worst Jobs in History and Dan Snow of Filthy Cities (see above) have all tackled the job of “tosher” or sewer rat, mud lark or gong farmer but Victorian author Peter Mayhew and his four-volume London Labour and the London Poor preceded them all.
