Austen at Altitude

I mentioned it to many of the people I met at the Decatur Book Festival, but now I can release some specifics about the conference the Denver-Boulder and the Pikes Peak regions of the Jane Austen Society of North America is planning for next April. The title is Austen at Altitude: Exploring the Legacy of Jane Austen’s Imagination, and the date will coincide with the premiere of Sense and Sensibility The Musical at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

This is an all new production that technically opens April 5, however our two regions will celebrate its official premiere Thursday, April 11. And if you book your ticket through the conference, you’ll also be invited to a backstage tour before the performance. On Friday, you can attend a Regency themed ball in the Seawell Ballroom of the DCPA. The conference will be Saturday, April 13, also at the DCPA.

We’re still planning this event and lining up the speakers (I’ll list the speakers in an upcoming post), but please start thinking about visiting the Rocky Mountains in the Spring next year for Austen at Altitude.
