What I’m watching: North and South

I’m becoming quite the fan of Elizabeth Gaskell, at least her work adapted for television, and must start reading her. But I wonder if her high body count is any less disturbing in print.

UPDATE: My God! The body count on this show is enormous. I enjoyed it, a lot, but I’m in still in shock.
