My apologies for this page being so skimpy, but separating wheat from chaffe when typing “Sherlock Holmes forums” in Google is difficult. I would love to include your forum if you send me a link. To get this started:
Sherlocktron is a very informative and horribly named source for all things Holmes. It is an unattractive site, looking as if it must have been one of the first Holmes websites, but that’s probably the reason it is so awesome. Here, you can also find a link to the more imaginatively named Scuttlebutt from the Spermacetti Press, which is from even before the birth of the world wide web, and which gives you a peek into a secret society.
Another dinosaur of the web is Sherlockian.Net, which according to the website is “the web portal about the Great Detective,” a role in which it succeeds admirably, with a very nice links page. The page discussing the copyright issues of Doyle’s work is also informative.
It’s just a sub-forum of an unfortuantely named board, but The Game is Afoot! The World of Sherlock Holmes seems to have a healthy following.
From the website/blog/forum The Sherlock Holmes Social Network: “This is your network, so feel free to bring up topics of interest to you, start discussions, share media files, start your own groups, make blog posts, etc.”
I found a very intriguing question at Holmesian.net, which made it a very good candidate for including on this page: Do you think that at Watson’s wedding, Holmes was his best man?
