No. 1 Royal Crescent reopens
Charlotte House’s home when in Bath, No. 1 Royal Crescent, has reopened after a long renovation. The Georgian townhome had been split in two (No. 1 and No. 1A) but thanks to lottery funds, it was possible for the No. 1 Museum to purchase No. 1A and restore the home to the way it would more or less have been in Charlotte’s (and Jane Austen’s) day.
You can see an ITV story about the reopening here and I would be happy if I could post a picture of Julia Sawalha (whom Janeites know as Lydia from the 1995 Pride and Prejudice mini-series and the rest of world as Saffron from Absolutely Fabulous), but instead I must direct you to this story at the Bath Chronicle.
The No. 1 Royal Crescent museum now sports a revamped website and you can also follow events on twitter.
